The main character of Eiichiro Oda's One Piece, Monkey D. Luffy, sets out on a journey to become the Pirate King during the Great Pirate Period. With the Gomu Gomu no Mi, a Devil Fruit with incredible strength, Luffy transformed into a rubber man and has since become incredibly strong. Luffy has developed what he refers to as "gears" over time to advance his skills.
Without a doubt, Luffy is at his best in Gear 5. Zunesha made it known to the audience that Luffy's heart generates a sound known as the "Drums of Liberation" when Luffy realised that his heart sounded different after awakening this power. This distinct heartbeat denotes Luffy at the pinnacle of his powers. Luffy is tapping into the awakened powers of his Devil Fruit as his heart begins to beat like a drum. The Gorosei explains that this implies Luffy's rubber body is much tougher and rubberier than before. He fights with even greater freedom at the same time, making his Devil Fruit the silliest power in the entire One Piece universe.
